Core pressure of the Sun is very high and its temperature is about 16 million ℃ because the Sun is extremely heavy. It is called “Solar Core”. In the range of approximately 15 km of radius from the center of the sun, multiple atomic nuclei of hydrogen fused into larger nucleus. This is called ‘nuclear fusion’. When the nuclear fusion occurs, a large amount of heat and light is generated. This is the energy source of the sun.
It takes about 8 minutes and 20 seconds for the sunlight to reach the Earth.
It takes from millions of years up to 10 million years for the light generated by nuclear fusion at the Solar Core to reach the surface of the Sun. The sunlight reached to the surface of the Sun is released into space and it takes 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach the Earth.
Majority of energy which the Sun produces is released into space as light (Electromagnetic Wave). Earth is far away from the sun and much smaller than the sun, the amount of sunlight which reaches to earth among entire sunlight released from the sun is just one over 22 billion.
However, the energy of sunlight which arrives to earth for just 20 seconds can supply enough energy which is used by all of human civilization.
